The Creed of the Church of Scientology

Below is the Creed of the Church of Scientology from website:

http://www.scientology.org/world/worldeng/corp/creed.htm

We of the Church believe:

That all men of whatever race, color, or creed were created with equal rights;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own lives;

That all men have inalienable rights to their sanity;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own defense;

That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own organizations, churches and governments;

That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others;

That all men have inalienable rights to the creation of their own kind;

That the souls of men have the rights of men;

That the study of the mind and the healing of mentally caused ills should not be alienated from religion or condoned in non-religious fields;

And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.

And we of the Church believe:

That man is basically good;

That he is seeking to survive;

That his survival depends upon himself and upon his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

And we of the Church believe that the laws of God forbid man:

To destroy his own kind;

To destroy the sanity of another;

To destroy or enslave another's soul;

To destroy or reduce the survival of one's companions or one's group.

And we of the Church believe that the spirit can be saved and that the spirit alone may save or heal the body.

===========================================

Now, who can find fault with any of this?

It all sounds very positive and uplifting to me.

  1. You claim you are an "Advanced Christian thinker".
    I have been all over your blog. You quote Hubbard in almost every entry but I have not seen one quote from Christ.

    Allow me to contribute one.

    "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after rightiousness for they shall have their fill."

  2. Ah, yes. The Beatitudes.

    1 Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them saying:
    3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
    4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
    5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
    6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
    7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
    8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
    9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
    10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

  3. You have awesome arguments, Mr. Hall. If you would preach tolerance from the culprit, lots of people would listen... except Anonymous and Extremists but they don't listen to any kind of reason.

  4. Thanks. This is a pulpit of sorts.

    Anonymous is perhaps the very worst of the lot of anti-Scientologists. They don't even have enough faith in their convictions to show their faces in public. They hide behind masks like the cowards they are.

    How can they listen to reason when they have no reasoning powers?
